There is a game between a boy and a little girl. They contend by designing various figures, which become alive and contend further for their own sake. Their contest, almost tragic at the end, reaches a serious conclusion addressed to adults. The film is composed of both live action and animated sequences.

Dušan Vukotić
Dušan Vukotić studied architecture in Zagreb. After the war he worked as a cartoonist. His animated debut was How Kićo Was Born (1951). When the Zagreb Film Animation Studio was founded in 1956 he made Robot, his first completely independent project, opening a series of parodies of film genres.
